Peso Pluma Receives Champion Award at BMI 2025 Latin Ceremony
Peso Pluma was the reigning champion of the 32nd edition of the BMI Latin Awards held at the Coastal Convention Center in the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami on March 6. The Mexican hitmaker was presented with the BMI Champion Award for “his undeniable influence on música mexicana, and his revolutionary sound that has resonated with millions of fans worldwide,” as credited by the performing rights organization.
In addition, Peso Pluma was named regional mexican songwriter of the year, an award that Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera took home for two consecutive years prior. Tito Double P, who is signed to Peso Pluma’s Double P record label, was honored with the BMI Impact Award for helping pen Peso Pluma’s early career hits, including “El Belicon,” “Siempre Pendientes,” “PRC” and “AMG.”

Contemporary Latin Songwriter of the Year was presented to Karol G and producer and songwriter MAG for writing six of BMI’s most-performed contemporary Latin songs of the past year respectively, including their collaboration on the song “Mi Ex Tenía Razón,” as well as Karol G’s “Amargura,” “Cairo,” “Qlona,” “S91” and “X Si Volvemos;” and Bad Bunny’s “Fina,” “Monaco,” “Perro Negro,” “Un Preview” and “Where She Goes.”
Peso Pluma’s song “Lady Gaga,” written by Gabito Ballesteros and Alexis Fierro Román, was named Regional Mexican Song of the Year. “La Bebé (Remix),” written by Peso Pluma and Hasa King Beatz, won Contemporary Latin Song of the Year.
Meanwhile, Sony Music Publishing was named Regional Mexican Publisher of the Year for representing 11 of the previous year’s most-performed regional Mexican songs and Kobalt Music Publishing won Contemporary Latin Publisher of the Year for representing seven of the previous year’s most-performed contemporary Latin songs.
